For some reason I cannot upload a picture in User Control Panel under 'profile'

its says: 'The avatar functionality is currently disabled.'

They've been disabled due to misuse, along with signatures.

Why don't the admins just ban the users that have breached forum rules? So they make their jobs easier just to disable avatars for everyone instead? I don't understand..

Hi,

It would be great if you had a forum that was well managed, with an an IT/Internet Manager with admin & moderators. If we/you only want text feedback we can read the papers. If you're looking for interaction from fans who want to discuss, share opinions, photos and express themselves then you'll have to operate a worthwhile forum!

have fun, frederick...

We tried it for the first few days and it didn't work. Which is why the avatars were taken down, people blocked, and signatures disabled too. With most forums, there's a lot of room to grow, that isn't possible around here. What takes a year for most new communities, took this one a few hours. Some people don't mind the way it is right now, and with the website having problems as it currently is, the less media being put up, the better.

Why wouldn't they just go through an approval process before they are used?

If there was a plugin for PHPbb, we could do it. Honestly, it's not worth it though. With all the problems we have with the forum actually working, it just adds more weight.

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for the reply. Knowing the reason why makes it understandable, guess you have no choice but to lock them down.

On a plus side, you must be pleased with the number of members in such a short space of time.... :D

Have fun, Frederick... :)

You're welcome!

Yeah, shame they didn't stick around for too long and only come on when the e-mails pop up.

I want an avatar.
And I wanted to post some pictures and videos.
Without those functions this place is a bit redundant.
A bit like having a black and white tv.
Actually it's a bit of a joke.
No way to build a community.
No reason to come back.

Perhaps when you notice it's the 21st century I will join in.
No incentive to visit somewhere cold and grey.
Too many other places to go where they have central heating, ipads, video (they are moving images with sound, just imagine!!) and FUN.

At least I have my six vinyl copies of the single to look at and listen to (yes six, your web site messed that order up too, see the thread 'Vinyl Frustration')
Really, it's just a very poor set up altogether for such a major artist.

See you later when it warms up a bit.

The problem is, in the beginning "eyenet" used to be full of inet's Oasis haters team who didn't have better things to do than to post pics of child molesters, rapers and murderers. That's why people in charge decided to 'turn off' BBCodes, avatars and the pic posting option. Sorry.

Yeah whats with the random trolls posting everywhere they should go take a hike. If people would smarten up we could have full forum capabilities...Act like adults people I know it's hard for some.

Just wondering if they have a plan on a way of fixing the issues or are they just completely giving up and not ever having the option of having one? Not really a big deal for me to be honest just curious.

There are some more important issues to be fixed, like the login problem people are having, and then the forum cookies.

Yeah I noticed that I stay logged in the main site but when I come to the forum I am not logged in. I have to log out of the main site and then log back in to post anything in the forum.

Not to be rude or impatient, but it's already been 2 months and there's still problems with logging in...

...and in those two months there has also been the launch of a new store, two new singles and videos released, a tour announced and sold out, and news of a new album.
