The login needs to be fixed

The login needs to be fixed

Postby Jessica Lares » 06 Nov 2010, 12:04

Everytime I log into the forums, I have to log into the site too. Can we get that fixed in the future? It's a bit annoying.

Thanks.

Clicking the Beady Eye logo at the top of page takes you back to the homepage, if that's what you mean. You can switch between the main site and the forum. :)

No, like, the forum always logs me out, right? And when I try to log back in, it takes me to the main site where I have to log in AGAIN in order to get back here.

Had that problem too - but yesterday, when the forum started = when it was full of users. Now that it's comparatively calm in here, there aren't any problems at all.

Hmm.. strange. We'll have to wait until some more technical people arrive.

Okay, thanks for trying to help anyway. I don't know if it can be fixed, I know PhpBB in general has issues like this whether a little or small forum. The CMS that this site is using though is bridged to use the database though, so thought it could be something to do with that. No worries.

The site is still in the transition between the original holding page and the full site. It's something very technical and boring to do with DNS. This issue won't be with us for very long, I promise.

Great to hear, so hopefully only 72 more hours. Seems to be okay now, when logging in 30 minutes later from the forum, it went to the main site. It's getting there.

A user here called beadle had the password changed, but when the account was re-activated from the email sent and tried signing in with the new password it doesn't work. I thought it might be a cookie problem but it didn't work for me either when I tried signing in for the user. Beadle's tried about 3 times now.

A small issue with Firefox.

If I stay logged into the forum with no activity, after a while (not sure how long) it automatically logs me out, but I'm still logged into the main blog. I try signing into the forum again but it doesn't work, but I'm still logged into the blog.

So I close Firefox, wait 10 seconds. Load Firefox up again. The blog then tells me to sign in, so I do, and I'm back in with both the blog and the forum.

It happens everytime. I haven't tried it with IE yet.

I have also these problems. If I sign in to the website then I can't sign in to the forums. Witch means that I have to sign out and back in again via the forums. It's pretty frustrating. Sometimes it doesn't work at all to sign in. If I refresh the browser or go back then I have to sign AGAIN. Fix it!

Everything seems to be okay RIGHT NOW, but like rizla says, when I'm in Safari, I usually have to wait a bit before it starts working. It works on my iPhone though when not here. I'd try resetting cookies and the cache.

I log in on the home page and then when I click log in on the forum it send me back to home page where I am loged in.
Have to log out, go to forum, then try log in again. Round and round and round I go!!!
Is this because I used FB to register?

I don't use Facebook and still have problems signing in and out. Give it time, the site's quite new and there's a lot going on at the minute. I'm sure the faults will be ironed out.

I use facebook and it does the same logging out problem everyday. I have to keep logging out on the main page and logging back in and then going to the forums to see if i'm still logged in.

I registered on the site with my Twitter account, but it's unusable with the forums... Guess this should be fixed sometime, as I had to make a new account just so I could join the forums.

I had this problem from day 1!

The best solution is to delete your profile and re-register.

When will the redirection stop? I mean that after you tried logging in here, it'll send you to the official site to log in.
