Beady Eye 3x7" Boxset release confirmed for Record Store Day

Beady Eye 3x7" Boxset release confirmed for Record Store Day

Postby crazyhorse69 » 05 Mar 2011, 12:56

As you may or may not know record store day is the 16th April this year.

It's a one off day where loads of ltd edition vinyls/cds/box sets etc get released.

Here's the good bit, just confirmed is a 2,000 only Beady Eye 3x7" Boxset, this was just announced earlier today so I don't know what the content of the 7" will be yet.

Bottom line is you can only get these by visiting a local independent record store on the 16th April and my guess is they'll sell pretty damn fast.

Price to be confirmed but I'd say no more than £15

Where did you see this, I usually go to RSD - no mention of this on their website though?

It's unlikely that the webstore will sell any.

The whole point of record store day is to get people visiting their local record shops etc.

What has happened in the past is if there is any left over from the stores, if them particular stores have websites then some of them have been known to sell the remainder online, but to be honest these will probably get snapped up super quick just like the Blur 7" last year.

I would check the official recordstore websites for details of participating stores.

Nice, that update wasn't on before when I checked, so basically it's the same 3 we already have, I wonder if the individual vinyl's will be numbered or just the outer box

Do you think that as it says 'EXCLUSIVE UK B-SIDES NOT AVAILABLE ON ALBUM' this might mean this release is United States only?

That is what I would interpret this to mean - but that's just untrue isn't it? I mean, the 1st 3 ltd singles were only available from the website, which is accessible by the whole world, so they were available in the states!

It really could AND probably will happen mate, I went to it in Exeter last year and a week before it happened I gave the dude behind the counter a list of stuff i wanted, on the day he didn't even put it out, he kept it under the counter for me :D

I LOVE independent record stores, and hopefully I am in UK for this one and get this box set 8-)

http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id= ... coming.php

According to this website the box set will include an exclusive poster and card to download 'exclusive live tracks' It is an american website tho, so maybe this won't be available in the UK after all?

We'll find out very shortly if it's a US only release, the official Recorsd Store Day finalised list is nearly ready, hopefully next week, however I do know that the price been quoted for the US market for this set is $40

so that works out at about £25, which is a bit more than I had in mind paying for something like this!

I agree, the price is a little over the top, average £8 per single plus change and your shipping charges on top. I mean yes you get a poster but it still falls way short of been good value for money, i'm just hoping it gets a uk release and the price is £20 or lower, it's crazy to sell at that price, I mean it's double what everyone has already paid for these singles anyway so I wonder what the strategy is behind it? Oh wait a minute, it must be the "lets cash in on Records Store Day Strategy"

This box set is a USA only release, i've just checked the UK Record Store Day website and it's not listed. This is s**t as i was hoping to purchase one in my local store, oh well it looks like ebay will have a few people making a killing on these.

It's being released on the Dangerbird label in the States so i'm assuming that the box itself will be numbered and not the individual records, i'll watch ebay for it but i reckon the gangsters will be looking about £80 plus postage when it 1st appears on there.
