i don't think they'll be s**t what i fear is it'll be like when be here now came out i liked the album but it was largely crtisicised because it was'nt as good as morning glory and i think will they be better than oasis just gotta wait for the singles to come out though and see i have got high hopes though that they will be on terms of musical brillance with oasis

Its going to be on the same level as StandingOSOG - Dig Out Your Soul era I think. Great, under rated albums that cannot touch the classics, however.

I don't think that they're going to be s**t, but I am afraid that they won't be as good as they've been hyped up to be. And this is coming from a #1 Oasis fan. But I'm saving my opinion until the album comes out next year, one song tomorrow can't define how good or bad a band is.

As long as the hype is kept to a minimum, the music should stand on its own. How many times in brit-pop history (ok, thinking Stone Roses Second Coming and, of course, be Here Now) did all of the hype damn near kill any enjoyment anyone could have gotten from the records?

I have to say that I really like both albums you mentioned, especially Second coming, which is a superb album, start to finish. It suffered by being five years after the debut and things had moved on. Oasis were the happening band by that time and the Roses had missed the boat. The album itself though stands up really well I think, especially the guitar of Squire. Be Here now is very under-rated as well I think. Yes, it is long but most of the songs are great and jesus it rocks. That may be the problem though, it rocks but doesn't quite roll, slow and heavy and could maybe have done with another ballad. An acoustic Stand by me might have lightened the slog a bit and All around the world is a bit much. But that's where they were at, huge anthems of celebration. It'll be fascinating to see who comes out on top, Liam's band or Noel solo. In a way we'll be getting two loads of Oasis, which can't be bad really.

just reckon even oasis were well past their sell by date, all the best songs of the last album were written by noel, and he's off changin nappies, all the songs are gonna be written by the songwriters of heavy stereo (shite), ride (shite) and the man who wrote little james, then basically forgot how to sing and started growlin at us all. I'll still go watch em when they come to manchester like, just not gettin me hopes up.

Also whos slaggin off second coming?? everyone has a go at that album before they've even listened properly, 6 or 7 right tunes on that album, how many modern bands do albums with that many decent tunes on? Also, mani plays a blinder on that, even if john squire disappeared up his ring a bit, but so would you or me on all that coke!

Good point. And most of the posts on this forum are just contributing to this ever-growing hype. "Beady Eye are gonna be f**king amazing!" What kind of a statement is that to make when all we have access to is a 20 second clip of a stripped down guitar riff? Even though this may sound good, the rest of the song might be terrible.
Now, I'm not saying that Beady Eye will be bad, in fact I have very high hopes for them myself, but I'm simply not giving in to this pre-release nonsense that dominates the music "industry" these days. I'm withholding a proper opinion until the full album is released. One song does not say much about a band, it's after continuous assessment that we can fairly assess their quality and future potential. Reserve your judgements until you can justify them!

I don't understand why people go out of their way to try and inject colloquialism into their written "speech". Obviously if you talk like that, then it's fair enough when you're speaking. But when writing/typing? See how far that gets you.

Agree. So many artists go solo and it's like what's the point? It's like the old band without the drummer or whatever.

Why would someone come on here to post that sort of comment? Totally pointless!

If you don't like the band then don't bother coming on their website or forum
