Beady Eye sounds lame. And will their music be the same?

The same as what? Themselves?

I imagine that there will be some Oasis sound due to the fact this is all but Oasis apart from one member.

Like an unwanted wart??? LOL! Don't get me wrong, as I'm a big fan of Liam, even if he is a pain in the arse most of the time. But a band's name is very important these days. When I think of beady eyes, I think of weasels. Is this what's he's implying? That he and the other guys are beady-eyed weasels? And don't drunken louts get all beady-eyed on you?

"Oasis" sure has a better ring to it. It would be interesting to learn the story why Liam didn't keep the original name. I'm sure Noel had something to do with it, since he wrote all the hit songs. Of course right now Noel is watching the wheels go 'round, and is a hell of a lot closer to the spirit of John Lennon than Liam could ever hope to be. That's got to hurt!

I think what people are forgetting is that this is Beady Eye. You just can't compare it to the old band. They're not going for the same style or sound as they were with Oasis. I bet loads of people think the name Oasis was s**t, Liam did in the end and came up with it.

I didnt like the name at first, but have completely forgotten about it in the excitement. But i'll probably grow to love it as I'll associate it with great music 8-)

I'm well aware of that, but they still could have chosen a better name. That's all I'm sayin' ...

The name of a band doesn't mean anything. The music is what counts.

Liam suggested changing the name from "The Rain" to "Oasis" before Noel joined the band, if anybody owns the name then it should be Liam. Besides Noel left Oasis so he left the name behind with the remaining 4 members.

^I noticed that and wondered the same thing. Once people have heard the music the name ain't as important, but when i first told my friends the new name was Beady Eye they were pretty sceptical and I imagine it was teh same with most people. This, coupled with the fact that people aren't sure whether they can survive without Noel means that they have to win people over, but hopefully the music will do the talking. :)

For Liam, I'm sure the least of his worries is the name of the band, he's the leader, and that is more than enough to follow them, plus, the music, apparently, is good, so that's another reason.
