^ LMAO jessica

The 15 second clip is so mean I just want the whole video :D. Oasis hated making videos but I think Liam will have to play friendly with them for now seeing as its a new band.

The problem with music videos is that it's kinda like taking a book and turning it into a movie. People have al these thoughts in this head when they listen to a song, same as when they read a book. When it gets into picture format, you either love it or hate it.

The last few Oasis singles had very good videos to go with them. The Importance of Being Idle even won an award. They might not like doing them, but it's one of those things that really make a song memorable.

Bring The Light

Postby b0bban » 16 Nov 2010, 10:35

Just saw the video. Pretty shaky camera work but I thought it went well with the song. All in all, a good video. They even had dancing girls in the background! 8-)

Is the Matt Jones in the video the same Matt Jones who played keyboards for Ultrasound?

Going opening tune. Here's the Beady Eye musical equation: ('50's boogie-woogie piano / steadily pounding skins) x ('60's back-up singers / guitars) + Liam's post-modernist lyrics = exciting times ahead.

I'm not one to slag off Beady Eye but I'm not sure why you would make a video that constantly plays with focus when the singer's face is one of the most marketable things about a new band.

I do like it though as a whole 8-)

I like the video, it's kinda puristic
and it removed the multicoloured nightmare
I had in my head after listening to the song
(incl. the female singers) for the first time....

now everything's fine and even more than this,
pictures can manipulate!!!

I wasn't able to open the video on youtube in Germany,
but I was lucky finding it here as well:

This video works very well for this song. It is very Liam in that it's basically a live performance. The various cuts and rapidly changing angles and shots keeps it interesting. It really communicates the energy of the song in a way that gives it enough context to make sense - much moreso that it made sense when I simply listened to the track without visual aid.

I am one of the people who was unimpressed through the first few listens. With additional repetition this song is definitely growing on me. I am still somewhat suspicious that the combination of really wanting to like it and the repetition (that I wouldn't grant a song from most other artists) are responsible for my change of heart, nonetheless I am feeling increasingly positive about Bring the Light.

Is that Jay Darlington playing the piano? I do recognize Jeff Wootton, who played electric guitar for Gorillaz with his electric bass.
