Question About Radiohead?

Question About Radiohead?

Postby eight » 25 Aug 2011, 03:53

I have been seeing a lot of talk about radiohead on the forums and around the web recently so I decided to check them out. Don't care much for it except for one song which is tolerable. But I just dont get the music. People say they are very famous, wide known, influential. I just dont get it. Its kind of eccentric music, the type that I could only assume would have a cult following rather than a an appeal like Oasis had. In my opinion most of their songs sound similar to one another. If I had to give a comparison to another band this reminds me of it would be Mr Bungle(USA Band) which had really eccentric music, or what I would call eccentric.

I guess what I am trying to understand is the hype about Radiohead. I think they are really overrated. The only thing I can throw them is originality. I am just giving my opinion and wondering if anyone out there agrees or thinks I am a total loon.

I like some of their stuff but I don't quite understand them myself. They're songs seem kind of hard to connect for me I just want some Rock and Roll tunes to enjoy they don't need to be complex.

If that really is the real meaning of that acronym, that's the worst acronym ever.
In my humble opinion.
