Dream Band

Dream Band

Postby Northern Wizard » 04 Apr 2011, 13:56

How about a 'dream team' band line up?

Liam - Vox (Closely followed by Ashcroft)

Johnny Marr - Guitar/song writing duties (Closely followed by John Squire)

Mani - Bass

Reni - Drums

Tony Rogers - Keys / Hammond

What you'd end up with is gorgeous arpeggiated chord based guitar pop songs with a groove based rhythm section and the 'lennon/lydon' cross vocals with the coolest frontman to walk the planet! I've chosen just the one guitar player as I prefer this style overall with a hammond organ thrown in there to give it something extra (i.e smiths / roses / charlatans)

Haha I'm sorry mate, a mod ruined my joke by deleting a spam post about escort ladies. The spam bot posted them in the perfect format as well.

Nah, my preference for voice wouldn't go down well around here, I think... Got called an "Albarnette" on Sunday, quite liked that term... Sticking to it I think. ;)

I do agree on Paul though... He's got a great stage presence, I'd like to call him a "bamf", and talented as well ofcourse!

Haha, ahhhhh the mods should of kept that!

I saw Gorillaz recently and seeing Mick and Paul on stage together was so surreal! Paul is just a machine and you could tell he was loving every second of it, Mick is also a bit of a music legend.

Everytime someone mentions Mick I just get a happy look on my face - that man is too precious. He's adorable on stage (really... look at him! Prancing around with his guitar, smiling, gotta love it!), and so nice as well. :)

Yeah, He is always dancing!

In Gorillaz he was always giving it a little shake, then there is some footage with him in the studio with The Libertines and he is dancing about with a beer in his hand, Always seems happy. B.A.D reunion is great news also, nowhere near The Clash but a very influential band in another right. Seeing him and Paul on stage (as I've said before too many times) was a true high point in my life, I could only dream of seeing The Clash live but to see those two friends with each other after all these years and Mick on the left, Paul on the right as it's always 'sposed to be is truly magical! Witnessing that is just something else.

Bobby Womack and Mick were talking about the Clash as well when I was there - precious. "Paul and I hadn't played together in 30 years!" You could see how happy he was to be reunited with his old mate. :)Good job Albarn...

Lucky!

Yeah, I mean The Clash was Paul and Mick's to begin with... They were mates before the whole band thing. It must have felt bad to fall apart over music, but great to be able to go out for a beer all these years later now. There isn't much I wouldn't give to have a cuppa tea with those two :lol:Did you manage to meet Paul?

Ah yeah Damon is a very clever man, not many have managed to bring so many genres and legends into one project, in fact he is the first person to do it so well since The Clash themselves :)

The Jam = overrated Clash....

Nahhh I'm joking :DBut I do not find his stage presence or lyrics to be the most compelling in the world... hence not being my favourite front man.
